I loved Mort/Hollis’ emotional growth & healing throughout the book. He had some serious and justifiable issues with {what he saw as} Cass’ slu++y behavior.Kane … !?! I was extremely upset & disappointed over the development of Kane’s character. He seemed so promising, like an actual decent human being. IMO, that was a an unnecessary addition to the story.Lots of grammatical & editorial errorsI feel like there should have been more closure on Cass’ stepfather before the end of this story. Between Cass not contacting Kane, Randy still floating around Smoky Vale, and nothing being done regarding a$$hole stepfather, the story just feels unfinished.I also felt that the character development of Cass was a bit improbable. I can understand an emotional and/or character strengthening, but that’s not all that happened. In the beginning of the book Cass was almost simple minded, not very bright, but kind and honest. By the end of the book he seems to have not only grown emotionally, but also intellectually as well. It was like reading about a completely different character.
